Please join us for FlowerMart 2015
Baltimore's annual rite of Spring

which will take place in the parks of Mt. Vernon surrounding the Washington Monument on Friday, May 1, 2015 and Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 11AM to 8PM both days. FlowerMart has no admission charge and is full of flowers, food and fun for families.

It is also a good place to buy gifts for a friend, loved one or yourself because arts and crafts are in good plenitude. Foot bling, wordables, pottery, collectibles, Japanese textiles, vegan handbags, soaps, housewares, fine art and photos, mosaics, glassware and many different kinds of jewelry are only some of the many kinds of unique gifts available for purchase.

Many types of bedding flowers will be sold, plus hanging baskets, herbs, carnivorous plants, seed bursts at the Parks and People booth and vegetable plants. Some of the garden accessories available include iron decorations, plant hangers, hanging chairs, pots, tomato cages, potting soil, bird feeders and birdbaths.

In addition, several non-profit, wellness and commercial vendors will be there to display their services and goods. You can get a massage or a blood pressure check and learn about window replacements and Center Stage’s upcoming season. Be sure to stop by the Wilkins Subaru booth in front of Mt. Vernon Place United Methodist Church to check out the two automobiles that will be parked there.

Check our entertainment page for the schedule of the many great vocal, dance and instrumental acts that will perform on two stages: some are returning favorites and several new entertainers will grace FlowerMart with their efforts. Betsey Ann Golan will perform two demonstrations each day at the D. Landreth Seed booth, #144 and 145 at the Southwest corner of N. Charles St. and West Mt. Vernon Place. The children’s area on Saturday from 12 - 5 in the West Park will feature several different kinds of hands-on activities.

Enter any or all of our four contests to win a great prize and a lovely ribbon:

While you’re enjoying all these things, avail yourself of the food court offerings, among them fresh fruit smoothies, crab cakes and soup, kosher hot dogs, Linganore wines, brick oven pizza. Vegetarian dishes will be sold for the first time at FlowerMart this year. Up at the monument, treat yourself to such delectables as soft ice cream, fresh-popped kettle corn and chocolate-covered pretzels. Of course, you must pick up a lemon peppermint stick next to the Peabody Institute and maybe take one home for a loved one since special takeout packages are available--they're still just $2 each!

The restoration of the Washington Monument is still underway, but it will be opened on July 4 by Mt. Vernon Place Conservancy. Come and see the progress and then stick around and enjoy the Mart!
